End of breeding season!

The month of August is coming to an end, it's time to separate the pony stallions from the ponies, in order to be sure of not having a surprise birth in the fall of next year.



Indeed, in December 2022 we welcomed a pony followed by a one-month-old foal, not easy to manage in winter, with bad weather, rain, ambient humidity.

Well, it's a double surprise for this pony because, after having put her in the meadow last April with one of our stallions, we had an ultrasound in May to check if a pregnancy was on the way and there, surprise number 2, the pony is not 1 month pregnant but 5 months pregnant (confirmation of dating with a blood test to check hormone levels).

So it's a second foal that will see the light of day in the fall at the stud farm, we were afraid that he would get bored, so we acquired an adorable pony Noisette, who is also pregnant for the month of October!


So many surprises breeding Shetland ponies! In the meantime, we are enjoying our magnificent foals from the 2023 spring season, because in a few weeks, we will already be leaving for Neadan SKYE, who is just superb:
